چکیده

Diuron, gabapentin, sulfamethoxazole, terbutryn and terbuthylazine are emerging micro-pollutants with concentrations in water wastewater ranging from tens of ng/L to >10 μg/L levels. The Fenton oxidation catalysed either by zero-valent iron (Fe(0)) or Fe(II) salts was studied treat the targeted their mixtures at compound between 1 1000 µg/L. Fe(0)-catalytic exhibited complete degradation all initial solution pH 3 but 5, 90% for diuron, 80% 95% 100% 70% terbuthylazine, respectively. Moreover, dissolved organic carbon multiple micro-pollutant solutions can be reduced 46% which were much better than Fe(II)-catalytic reaction same conditions. SEM/EDX analysis showed corrosion surface FTIR evidenced adsorption by-products onto solid surface. Additionally, toxicity effluent after treatment minimal Behnajady-Modirshahla-Ghanbery (BMG) model fitted well kinetics mineralisation micropollutants. Finally, Fe(0) catalyst reused up three times process produced no less sludge impact this study is that would an alternative traditional combat environmental issues caused micro-pollutants.

Soil Remediation Using Nano Zero-valent Iron Synthesized by an Ultrasonic Method

A new method for the synthesis of nano zero-valent iron (nZVI) was developed in the present study. Ultrasonic waves, as a novel method, were used to synthesize the nanoparticles. The morphology and surface compositions of the particles were characterized by using FESEM, XRD, BET, and particle size analyzer. The synthesized nanoparticles were then utilized as a Fenton-like catalyst to degrade of...

Enhanced chromium (VI) removal using activated carbon modified by zero valent iron and silver bimetallic nanoparticles

Recently, adsorption process has been introduced as a favorable and effective technique for the removal of metal ions from aqueous solutions. In the present study, bimetallic nanoparticles consisting of zero valent iron and silver were loaded on the activated carbon powder for the preparation of a new adsorbent (PAC-Fe(o)/Ag). The above adsorbent was characterized by using XRD, SEM and TEM tech...

Removal of Acid Red 18 dye from Aqueous Solutions Using Nanoscale Zero-Valent Iron

Background and Purpose:Organic dyes with a complex structure are often toxic, carcinogenic, mutagenic, non-biodegradation and stable in the environment and if released to the environment without treatment can endanger the environment and human health. The aim was to evaluate the performance nanoscalezero-valent iron (NZVI) in the removal of dye acid red 18 (AR18) from aqueous solutions. Materia...
